Plucking Eyebrows

Plucking my eyebrows is one of my least favorite beauty rituals to do. I have to or either let someone else do it. Usually one side needs more attention than the other brow, which I find a little odd. It’s always the side that needs to be plucked more that hurts worse.

I like to numb the eyebrow before beginning to pluck. I take a little rubbing alcohol on a cotton ball and rub over the eyebrow to make plucking hurt less. When the tingling sensation wears off, I reapply some more. It helps to make plucking eyebrows bearable.

Mask of Pregnancy

When I was pregnant, I developed dark spots on my skin. After a little research I learned it was something called the mask of pregnancy. Basically when you are pregnant you have more pigment in your skin. Getting out in the sun can leave darker spots on your skin. I have the mask on my face. With time it usually fades but sometimes it doesn’t. If mine doesn’t completely go away I might be making a visit to an Orlando cosmetic surgery facility.

Luckily my mask has become less noticeable. I’ve heard that chemical peels or other skin rejuvenating treatments can help reduce the appearance of the dark spots. Personally I haven’t tried it yet but am considering seeking help. So advice if you are pregnant, use your sunscreen each and every time you go outside. I don’t spend a lot of time outside like gardening, so my time outside when I was pregnant was just traveling to work and back or running errands.

Wearing sunscreen is just a good habit to get into applying before heading out into the sun. Protecting your skin is important since it will be very costly to repair sun damage.

A Nightly Lotion

My Mom always applies lotion to her face and neck before going to bed. I have been trying to get into this habit. I really don’t want to look my age. If I could afford to have cosmetic surgery in Beverly Hills then I would consider going to a place that is well known for their work. Since I can’t, I must rely on other methods.

I’ve been using Oil of Olay for about a week. It seems to do well, but it’s perfumed and really drives my nose crazy. I had gotten it as a sample in the mail so maybe I can find a non-smelling version of the lotion.

I think lotion can really help keep your skin looking good. It has definitely worked with my Mom as her skin looks great. Our skin type is naturally oily, which may also lend itself to a more youthful look naturally. Once I get into the nightly routine hopefully I can stick with it and start seeing results.

Sandal Wearing Weather

This Winter my feet have barely seen the light of day. Between a cool house and either rainy or cold weather, my feet have spent the Winter in socks and shoes. They definitely need a little TLC before I put on a pair of sandals.

To get rid of unslightly dry skin on my feet, I use a pumice rock. Pumice is a very lightweight rock that works really well to soothe rough skin. You can buy pumice at most drug stores in the beauty section. First you will need to soak your feet for about five minutes. Wet the pumice rock. Gently rub the pumice over the dry skin for about a minute. It’s amazing the results you can achieve.

I’ve had great results using pumice to get rid of dry skin. Afterwards, I use Pretty Hands and Feet if my feet are still a lttle rough. If not, I just use some lotion. Then apply for nail polish, and I’m ready to wear those sandals out and about.
