Gloves in a Bottle

With winter fast approaching, dry skin will become a bigger problem for many of us. I have a problem wearing lotions that have a scent, so I’m always on the lookout for lotions that work but do not have a scent. I was recently given the chance to try Gloves in a Bottle – a shielding lotion. Gloves in a Bottle provides a protective layer that shields the skin and keeps moisture in while blocking elements that are harmful to the skin.

A little of this product goes a long way. After using this for a few days, I can tell a real difference in my skin. Gloves in a Bottle also absorbs fast, so it doesn’t take that long to apply. Some lotions it seems take forever to work into the skin. After applying Gloves in a Bottle, my hands do not feel like lotion is on them. It all absorbs into my skin. I love that as I usually have to wash my hands after applying lotion. There is a slight scent to Gloves in a Bottle but it is not overpowering. In other words, it doesn’t bother me to wear it. The scent might be more from the ingredients than something added intentionally to give it a scent.

Gloves in a Bottle would be great for anyone who suffers from dry skin or has to wash their hands several times a day. My sister-in-law who is a nurse could really benefit from this product.

Everybody’s Nuts Pistachios

Ever since we rolled our clocks back last weekend, I have been hungry all the time. I already love to eat, so this is not a good thing to actually feel like I’m eating around the clock. I do love food, so when asked if I would like to try Everybody’s Nuts Pistachios, of course I said yes. Too bad we’ve eaten all of them as it sure would be nice to snack on them right now.

Pistachios are very popular in our household, so this is a product that I didn’t have any trouble getting others to give me their opinions. We were sent all four flavors – Roasted & Salted, European Roast, Roasted No Salt, Salt & Pepper. All four were a huge hit with our bunch. They were especially impressed at how easy it was to open the shell. Pistachios are a good healthy treat. Sometimes the hardest part is getting to the nut inside. With Everybody’s Nuts the nuts are easily removed from the shell.

The packaging is very nice and I think would make a great gift. It’s definitely a product that we will buy as the family is already asking for more.

Greased Lightning

It seems that every white shirt that we own winds up with some sort of grease stain on it. While the stain may fade after treatment and washes, it is always still there. When I was asked if I would like to try Greased Lightning, an all purpose cleaner and de-greaser, I was eager to give it a test.

My first test was a white shirt that had gotten stained with greasy spaghetti. Luckily I had the Greased Lightning and treated the stain before washing. I then tossed the shirt into the laundry. Here is the shirt before –

And here is the shirt after one wash -

Greased Lightning really worked well and I was very surprised to see the stain gone. My next test was a tougher stain as it had already been through the wash. Here is the before as the shirt is already treated with Greased Lightning –

And here is the shirt after -

I was much more impressed now since it worked on an existing stain. Now I have found a must have product to have in the laundry room at all times.

Since you can also clean with Greased Lightning, I decided to use it to clean the top of my stove. It worked really well at cleaning, too. It’s quite refreshing to find a product that is all-purpose and actually works well in all areas.

I have just begun to scratch the surface of the cleaning power of Greased Lightning. If it works on mildew stains, carpet stains, porcelain, refrigerators, and toilets, then I may never have to buy another cleaner again. After seeing the results with the laundry and the kitchen, I’m inclined to believe that Greased Lightning will live up to what it promises it can do.

Oral B Pulsonic Toothbrush

When asked if I would like to review the new Oral B Pulsonic toothbrush, I was kind of excited to try a new electronic toothbrush. And knowing that it was from Oral B and already loving my Pulsar toothbrush, I had little doubt that the Pulsonic would disappoint. And I was right.

This sleek, rechargeable toothbrush works wonders. I love that feeling after you have your teeth cleaned by the dentist. This toothbrush gets pretty close to delivering that overwhelming feeling of clean. There are more than 27,000 gentle sonic vibrations per minute. It also has two speeds, so you can use a lower speed for sensitive teeth. The toothbrush also lets you know when 30 seconds has passed by briefly stopping and starting and also stutters when two minutes has passed. So if you want to get in your full two minutes of brushing, then you can easily keep up with your time.

The Oral B also comes with two heads, the main toothbrush and a bristle head that is used for getting in between the teeth. Store it on the small, recharging base.

The Pulsonic takes up little, precious room on your vanity. It’s compact and works wonders. I had tried a Tooth Tunes toothbrush since I had wanted to get into the habit of brushing my teeth for at least two minutes. But I found it boring and was the slowest two minutes of my life. The Pulsonic is fun to use and those 30 second increments fly by. Now I brush my teeth for two minutes and it feels like only 30 seconds have gone by.

It’s a great toothbrush and although I love my Pulsar, I’ll continue to use the Oral B Pulsonic.

Swaddle Blanket

I must confess that the baby bug has bitten me. I find myself really wanting another little one sometime soon. Today I’ve spent a good deal of time daydreaming about having another baby and what all we would need. One product that I had wanted to get when Raegan was born was a swaddle blanket. Babies loved to be swaddled and held close. It’s amazing how it calms and soothes a baby to have them wrapped up tightly.

You can do a swaddle with a normal blanket, but it isn’t necessarily easy. I remember the nurses could swaddle Rae in record time. Of course, I guess if it’s something you do everyday then it can become second nature. For new Moms like me it can be challenging, though. That’s why swaddle blankets was one product I really wanted to have for Rae. Sadly I couldn’t find any until she was a little older and out of the swaddling stage.

This cute Swaddle Me Blanket would have been a perfect choice since it’s easy to operate. It’s soft and comes in a really cute pattern. This could definitely be a unisex baby gift. This one uses Velcro to keep the baby wrapped up in this uniquely designed blanket. The baby fits into a pocket and the you wrap the ‘arms’ of the blanket around the baby. It will definitely keep the little one wrapped tightly, giving him a sense of security.

This will be an item that I will definitely use if I have another baby as it the swaddle blanket is much easier to use than a traditional blanket for swaddling purposes.

Lysol Air Neutralizer

lysol.jpg

Meet my new favorite product. The Lysol air neutralizer keeps my home smelling fresh all day. Best of all I don’t have to do anything. What a great concept.

The neutralizer hangs on the wall or can sit on a shelf. Install the two AA batteries and load the Lysol neutralizer can. Then set the timer to either 9, 18, or 36 minutes. That’s how often the neutralizer will spray. I set mine to 36 minutes. I do have to admit that the first few days I nearly came unglued everything the thing sprayed but once I got used to the noise, I don’t jump nearly as often.

There are other scents other than the one that comes with the neutralizer. Each can can last up to 2 months. You can also spray it anytime by pressing the button on the front.

The neutralizer works well and is helping to keep the house smelling fresh. I like the smell of freshness in the house but never remember to spray and candles are out of the question with the three year old(she likes to blow them out). So, the Lysol air neutralizer fills a need in our home and works great.

BK Apple Fries

Have you been to Burger King lately? Have you heard about their new BK Apple Fries and the new kid’s meal? Burger King now offers apple fries in their healthy, low calorie BK kid’s meal that also includes mac and cheese and low fat milk. The new kid’s meal has only 350 calories, too.

bkfries.jpg

The apple fries are sliced from red apples and are cut to resemble French fries. They also come with a low fat caramel sauce, which is really yummy. Sadly, I couldn’t talk my little one into eating any. She’s at this stage where everything is ‘no’ unless it’s her idea.

But I thought they were really tasty, and I’m an apple snob. If it’s not sweet and juicy when it comes to apples, then I don’t want it. The BK Apple Fries were delicious. I’m glad I agreed to try them and also have some good news for you.

bkfries2.jpg

Want to try the BK Apple Fries for yourself? Then read on. I have two BK Crown cards to give away. Both pre-paid BK cards are worth $10 each. You can buy apple fries or anything on the Burger King menu with this card. I will have a random drawing for the two winners. All you have to do is leave a comment on this post(trackbacks and spam do not count). I will draw the winners Monday, August 25th and will contact the winners to get their mailing address. Sorry but open to U.S. residents only.

Congrats to commenters 2 and 4 as they were chosen at random to win. I’ve sent both winners an email. Thanks everyone for participating.

Skin MD Natural

4oz-thumb.jpg For some time now, I’ve been searching for a lotion that I could apply to my face at least once a day. I’ve tried several lotions through the years but I’ve never stuck with using any one for very long. When I was given the opportunity to try Skin MD Natural, a skin care product that helps to restore dry skin, I was very willing to try it. Like many people, I have dry skin in the “T” zone on my face.

You use Skin MD Natural every few hours until the dry skin is replenished. Then you use it either once or twice or day. It’s really helped cure my dry skin. Skin MD Natural is more than a moisturizer as it hydrates your skin as well. Skin MD creates a barrier over your skin that keeps your skin’s natural moisture in and those irritants that rob the moisture out. My skin feels much softer and looks a lot better.

The best thing I like about Skin MD Natural is that after I apply it, my hands are not greasy. That’s one reason I haven’t worn lotion much before is that I can’t stand the residue that is left on my hands. I always have to immediately wash them so they feel normal again. It always seems lotions take forever to work in fully. Skin MD Natural isn’t like that and after a few seconds it is worked into my skin. Also a small amount goes a long way, so a bottle of it will last a long time.

It’s one of the best beauty products I have ever used. Not only does it hydrate my skin but it goes on silky smooth and leaves no residue. Another big plus for Skin MD Natural is it has no scent. It seems lately that I can’t wear any perfumes or use scented lotions. Even shampoos bother me sometimes. So it’s wonderful to have a lotion that is not scented and works like it is suppose to.

Overall I’m very pleased with the results I’ve had using Skin MD Natural and will continue to use it everyday as it really has helped my dry skin.

Kraft Bagel-fuls

bagelfuls.jpg

Most mornings we eat breakfast on the run. I’m usually rushing to work, so I grab either a sausage biscuit or something even more unhealthy on the way to work. Since I eat on the run, I was thrilled to be asked to try the new Kraft Bagel-fuls.

The Bagel-fuls are bagels with the cream cheese already inside. The shape of it makes it a perfect grab and go breakfast. They come in five varieties: original, strawberry, cinnamon, whole grain, and chive. Each bagel-ful has less than 200 calories, too. You can either toast them, microwave them, or enjoy them straight from the refrigerator.

I tried the original and cinnamon flavors and have to say that both were delicious. The Bagel-ful is filling and satisfying. It also takes a few minutes to eat, which is great since I love to eat. I like foods that last and these Bagel-fuls really do.

The Bagel-fuls are not only really good but lower in calories than a lot of other fast breakfast items. Sometimes I have a raging sweet tooth in the mornings which I think the cream cheese should satisfy nicely. It’s great to have found a fast breakfast food that is filling and yet not too high in calories. Now I just have to remember to look for Bagel-fuls in the frozen food section and not with the other bagels.

A Little Help

After our last move, we decided that the days of us moving by ourself is over. Next time we will seek out help because packing, loading, unloading, and unpacking is too exhausting. Hiring professional movers would be an option if the move is business related and the company is paying for it. As I have yet to work for a company that pays moving expenses, I doubt professional movers will be an option.

Hire a Helper.com is a neat service that benefits both those moving and those workers looking for jobs. You can find day helpers like New York Movers from their website. Just fill in the information like when you need to hire someone to get a list of potential helpers with their rates. Sadly there isn’t anyone in my area signed up with them, but I can be notified when day workers are available.

Here is a breakdown of how the service works:

1. Find a helper to hire
2. The helper you requested will be in contact within 24 hours. If they can’t help you, then you can either choose someone else or cancel the job.
3. Once the helper completes the job, give the helper the authorization code that you received during checkout at Hire a Helper. This code will ensure they get paid, and you get the work done you need.

Hire a Helper launched in 2007 and already has over 1,000 day workers who have signed up with them from all fifty states. All major metropolitan areas are covered, so if you’re looking for Los Angeles Movers or even Chicago Movers, you can find the help you need. Also, each day worker that is hired can be rated by the customer. So if your are leery of hiring someone, then check day workers with good reviews.

Being a frequent mover, I can appreciate the Hire a Helper Learning Center that has articles on packing, gardening, organization, and more. They even have some articles about cleaning. Oh be still my heart!

There’s also a special offer for bloggers who need to hire a helper. Enter the code blogme to receive $10 off.
