Making a little extra money through blogging has been a huge help since I’ve scaled back on work. Up until recently I stayed at home all day but now have a part-time job. Without being able to make money online I probably would have to return to work full-time, which I don’t want to do until Rae is in school.
One service that I really like is Smorty. Smorty is a blog advertising company based in Australia. Bloggers can get paid to blog while advertisers can get the word out about their product. To get paid for blogging is a dream come true since it is revolves around blogging - something I already do all the time. For bloggers, Smorty is an easy way to make a little money using your blog. They pay weekly, and once you reserve an opportunity have roughly three days to submit your link. Only one opportunity can be reserved at a time.
You can blog for money or you can earn money through their affiliate program. Share Smorty with year readers and be rewarded if they sign up.
Blog advertising has been a lifesaver for us. It can be a fun way to make a little money blogging.
While shopping the other day, I noticed that my idea of a good bargain seemed to be items that were $5 or less. This made me realize two things: 1) I’m easily entertained and 2) I can easily make $5(well really more) a week with one of my favorite blog advertising companies PayU2Blog.com.
Making a little extra cash with my blog has been a lifesaver for us. With just one steady income, the money I make from blogging really helps to keep us afloat. For me, working with PayU2Blog has been a great experience, so much so that I created a video showing some of my great less than $5 finds and how easily it is to get started with PayU2Blog.
Imagine an auction where the lowest bid wins. That’s the concept behind Bid4Prizes.com. Bid4Prizes.com is a sweepstake website with a twist. If you win, you don’t have to pay the amount you bid, but you will have to pay shipping and any applicable taxes.
Bid4Prizes.com has given away many free gifts like a 42 inch plasma TV, a PlayStation 3, and a Nintendo Wii. There is a winner everyday. Cool items are not the only prize they give away. There is a cash prize game where the winner takes $10,000.
The winning bid of the auction is the lowest unique bid. Once you enter your bid, you will be told if your bid is unique.
Bid4Prizes.com is easy to navigate. You will have to register to play. You can either text in your entries or enter it from the web. There are plenty of auctions going on right now from Apple’s iPhone to a new 2007 Scion.
Smorty is a paid blogging service that connects advertisers and bloggers. Bloggers write their opinions on services or products. Smorty allows show a list of opportunities available to you. I like that you get to see how many slots are available for each opinion post. You also see the rate of pay for each opportunity that is determined by several factors related to your blog like Alexa rank and Google Page Rank.
Smorty has a clean blogger interface that has a retro look. It’s easy to navigate and the frequently asked questions were a real help to answer all the questions I how and when do I get paid. Once you reserve a post, it will be listed under your pending tasks. Also it will list how long the offer will be in your reserve. You will need to post by the date listed or lose the offer. It’s nice that I can pick and choose the offers I want to write about. It’s also nice that once I reserve an offer that I have a few days to post my opinion.
Being able to blog for money really helps this housewife pay the bills and have a little spending money. It’s also been a great tool to learn more about blogging and the blogosphere.
I already have more toolbars than I really need, but I couldn’t pass up learning more about one more. The Agloco Viewbar can earn you money just by surfing and searching the Internet. Members share in the money earned from the viewbar. Their share of the pie depends upon their participation.
The AGLOCO Viewbar is a brand new service, but since I could possibly get some money for doing what I already do is worth a test run. The more people who partcipate, the more money is earned through the viewbar. AGLOCO makes money from several different sources, including but not limited to advertising and transaction commissions. There are four ways for members to make money:
1. Members get a monthly share of the revenue based on the use to the Viewbar.
2. Members earn a part of the company based use to the Viewbar.
3. Members earn money through referrals.
4. Members share any commissions earned when members buy a product/service from the Viewbar.
AGLOCO is free to join. You can also donate your earnings to charity. ALGLOCO has some great ideas that hopefully will net some pocket money for its members.
I love to go to rummage sales and hate to have them. I love the extra money, but it’s no fun to have a rummage sale. It’s a lot of work but at least I get rid of some junk that someone really needs.
My neighbor is a rummage sale guru. She knows what sells and what doesn’t. She has some great tips and advice. I’m going to take part in her spring rummage sale this year. I was getting ready to toss some stuff out today when she suggested putting it under the shed and selling it.
One of her tips is to hang up your clothing as it sells better on hangers. My past rummage sales you are lucky if the clothes are on a table as they are usually just in a big pile on the ground. So, she saves clothes hangers throughout the year to use for the rummage sale. I’ve started to save hangers for our clothing that will be in the sale. I’ve always had more luck selling kitchen items and other brick-a-brack instead of clothes.
It’s always easier to do a lot of tasks when you have someone to do it with you. I’m actually looking forward to this rummage sale even though it is a few months away. It’ll be nice to cull our junk and make a few dollars.
If you use Wordpress, there are several plugins available to help monetize your blog. Lorelle’s Wordpress blog lays out many good plugins in categories like adsense, Amazon affiliates, Paypal donations..etc.
A few of the plugins I am familiar with. I don’t use that many plugins and seldom search for any. Articles like Lorelle’s really help me to see some of the ways to make money with my blog that I knew about but wasn’t sure how to incorporate with Wordpress.
I'm a mostly stay at home mom who loathes cleaning, cooking, and anything that remotely might be described as housework. I love trying new products and sharing household tips that save time and energy. Sure, I could post a ton of tips that I've read or found on the Internet, but I prefer to use tips and hints that I actually use.
