Since my last update on clutter last month, I have made very little progress. This saddens me greatly because I had really hoped to have conquered more than I have. While we have made some progress, there is still so much to do. For Lent, my husband and I have given up laziness – so here’s hoping we can use that to get the rest of our clutter under control because it really does affect our lives in so many ways.
What I’ve done so far
The girl’s room is still fairly clean i.e you can walk in her room and not trip on any toys. Even though she has less room now that she has a full bed, I think that works to help keep her room neater. She has less space so there is less to mess up and also less to clean up. I do plan on sorting through her stuffed animals and thinning down the herd soon.
Kudos to my husband for tackling the bathroom – something I had been putting off for a while. Now our counter top is nice and organized. Surprisingly it has stayed that way for a couple of weeks. The bathroom still needs some work but with the counter top done, the rest of the items should be an easy fix. You see, we tore out the leaky bathtub and have been using that space for storage. But we plan this spring to put a new tub in that spot. I have already been through the stuff once and tossed many things. Now to see what makes it through round two – hopefully we will have a lot less.
I have made some progress in both our bedroom and the kitchen. Both rooms still need a lot of TLC. My goals is to work on the bedroom some more so that we can order satellite TV. We want it installed in our bedroom and want to make sure the tech has plenty of room!
So, not too much to report other than I haven’t given up. I just need to take it small bits at a time. A little progress is better than none.
