This weekend I finally started to tackle the huge mess that is my kitchen. It had gotten so disorganized that even if I had something that I couldn’t find it. So it was high time to sort through it all even though I didn’t really want to.
We have very limited cabinet space and the space that we do have it oddly-shaped. That’s a big drawback of this mobile home. I’m not sure who designed the kitchen but it’s obvious they had never spent that much time in one.
I’m not sure why it seems the rule that spices reside in the small cabinet above the stove but this just doesn’t work well for me. So, I moved all the spices to a another cabinet. Now my pots and pans are in that cabinet. It works better for me to have the spices at a lower level.
Hopefully I can keep the momentum going this week and finish organizing the kitchen. Then it’s on to the rest of the house. If I can get that done, then I will be a very happy housewife.

My aunt had a mobile home, we used to stay with her for weeks on end during the summer when we were little. I remember I was in charge of breakfast, it was a nightmare. I was too young to really care but I can remember dropping so many things because there was no place to set them down. The cabinets were filled and you had to remove things to get other things stuffed in the back. Hope everything works out for you. Regards!

Keep at it. An organized kitchen works wonders for the chef. You’ll be more motivated to cook more complicated meals since you’ll have space. And don’t worry, I think everyone has a messy kitchen at one point or another. Mine may be clean at the moment but you should see my bedroom. One word, laundry.

Nothing is worse than a messy kitchen! haha Well for people who like to be in it alot. Im normally the head kitchen person at home and both my mum and fiance (yes I live with my mum *sigh*) insist on putting the kettle on the bench next to the power point. I get so angry because I like it on top of the wall on the bench, just above the power point. I need the bench space of everything else and they just keep putting it back down again!!! I get so angry! Im constanly cleaning out the cuboards and pantry, I have a space for sauces and drink making stuff (tea coffee etc) and I have a place for the spices and the boxes..>Do you think these people can keep things where they belong? NO

Pots and pot and need to be in the cabinet. In my kitchen all must be in place and I do not allow entrance to my kitchen. This is my favorite part of the house in which I have invested a lot of love and a lot of money.

It’s a wonderful feeling to get organized in your kitchen! My husband built us a HUGE walk in pantry (where there used to be this yucky and I do mean yucky 1979 bar thing) with tons of storage and spice room!

I do not have much room but it is pretty much organized. I keep it high cause then I do not have to search when someone else decides to cook and change places for me.

Ever since I left my six figure job and started working from home, I seem to spend a lot more time in my kitchen (mostly snaking). Because my home office is right next to my kitchen it is totally important to have it organized and clean all the time. Clutter and mess around the house seem to clutter our minds as well, so good for you for checking that messy task off your list!
I wish my husband would help out more, but since he’s the one that cooks & bakes, I guess I get stuck with the cleaning. Oh well…

Heya I used to do this with my computer as well as I had a GFX card that could handle multiple monitors. I only ever used 2 with it though when just doing normal desktop stuff. I used to use multiple desktops on the one monitor but having 2 means you can do more work and they are both seemless so you can drag and drop files over. It’s cool I hope it speeds things up for you

Thanks for the post. Yeah, I undrerstand you. I lived in a small house, and kitchen was too small to be there even for three people. It is very uncomfortable. Now I live in a very big house, and I myself made all organizations. Everybody admire it.

I have white melamine kitchen cabinets, any suggestions on what I can use to get them really clean, they are losing their white colour and fading.

I live with the tiniest kitchen ever! No counter tops… but we brought in a stand alone pantry, that helped. the pans live on the stove top!

We had the same issue, and decided rather to try to restore or clean the cabinets we replaced them using the site http://www.KitchenCabinetDepot.com, they have a great selection and very easy to work with.
