Merging Computers

We have very limited space and since I have a laptop, I thought I would just break down my desktop. We built both our desktops a few years back. The other day I moved the monitor to my husband’s PC. It’s so nice to have two monitors.

His video graphics card can handle two monitors, so technically I might could move my video card to his computer and have three monitors – if we had a third one. We would need a bigger desk.

So I’ve managed to create a small amount of space by breaking down my computer. Now if I can just find more items to consolidate then we might have room for everything for once.

You can get down to one printer by using an old a/b switch between the computers.

  2. Just the fact that you are reducing/combining is a feat in itself!

Hats off to you…That’s more than I could attempt to do!

You are beyond my technical knowledge! But good for you in freeing up some space. Maybe the next thing you consolidate will be easier-

  6. How I wish I could learn to do things like that. I have an old desktop that doesn’t work. I’m sure the parts can be used to make it into something. You’re amazing!

Ooooh! That’s Farm Town and The Sims 3 right? Two of my addictions! :P

Dual monitors are the way to go. You realise how useful they are when you move to working on a laptop and try and drag something off to your invisible second screen! I have emails, skype etc.. on one usually and what I’m working on on the other.

I cannot live without dual monitors. I’ve become so dependent on it that I go crazy when I just use my laptop.

  11. ok, so. i need to merge 2 computers ( both are towers ). The thing is that i would like them to be merged in a way that let’s them to share the workload; i would like 2 computers to act as if they were one. So if anyone has any info regarding the way of achieving such thing, i would appreciate it alot.
    thank you.
