On my short wish list is a dishwasher. I get so tired of doing dishes day in and day out. Well let’s be honest here. I may do dishes once a day - on those days that I cook. Until recently we didn’t have a tall refrigerator but was using a dorm sized one. So we drank a lot of can drinks and used very few glasses. So my point is that we weren’t using a lot of dishes. Now that has changed and so I’m back to really wanting a dishwasher.
But my whole point of this post is to not to talk about a dishwasher but to talk about a cleaning product I bought for doing dishes. It’s made by Celo. It’s a scrubbing pad that holds dish liquid soap.
I bought it for two reasons - I thought it was cute and from what I read I gathered it would clean well without having to apply a lot of elbow grease.
So after filling it with soap, I put it to test on my cast iron skillet that had some hard food residue on the bottom. (I should know by now to rinse out pots and pans immediately after cooking) I was excited to see that it worked very well without much force by me.
I’ve had one of these before. It just wasn’t made by Celo. It was so handy between dish washings when you need only to wash a few things.
I was pleased with how well it work because the pad isn’t that abrasive. It works like it says it does and anything that makes doing dishes a little easier, I support 100 percent.

I would definitely buy one for the same reason as yours:-)

LOL soap on the cast iron. I do that regularly and it annoys Husband to no end! He’s gone so far as to get a new dish rag to make sure no soap will touch the cast iron. Apparently, you are just supposed to use water… I hear you can scrub it with salt.
Thanks for the review on those celo things. I’ve seen those and have wondered about them. Maybe I’ll give them a shot. Might be handy for the things that aren’t dishwasher safe.

finished.
Football will never be the same…. I have always loved his
LOVE for the game……
Ted Thompson, the GM for the Packers was a school mate
of mine and he is no longer a friend. HA He blew it big
time….
But if Brett decided to play again, I would LOVE IT!

That little scrubber would go perfectly with my new kitchen sink faucets. Good find.

First, hello! I just came across your blog and think it’s great.
Second, I love those scrubbies, but no, you are not supposed to use soap on cast iron, it takes off the “seasoning” which keeps the pan pretty much non-stick(and negates the three hours you spent tending the pot in the process). I use a nylon brush with a long handle. If stuff is really stuck on, you can stick it on the stove with a little baking soda and water to simmer. Then take the brush to it (while still hot) and the gunk comes right off. As long as you wash it with hot water and let it dry completely, you don’t need to worry about germies. =)
