I have a slow kitchen drain. After taking the flashlight to it, I can see the buildup and it ain’t pretty. I’m just praying that I can find a natural drain cleaner remedy to take care of it.
Right now I’m trying a suggestion I found on GreenYour.com. It says to use a cup of baking soda mixed with 1/4 cup salt. Let it sit for at least an hour or overnight. That’s quite a range. I will probably do at least a few hours since we’ll be without water for a few hours anyway since we are switching to well water. Hopefully it will be long enough to see some results.
Anyone have any home remedies for build up in sinks?

I’ve used some baking soda washed down with vinegar. Helps some.
Try a plunger or a snake…
snake works well if there are pieces stuck in the pipes but if it’s build up it won’t be as effective.
Drain Cleaner:
Pour into drain:
-1/2 cup Baking Soda
-1/2 cup white vinegar
-Plug the drain for a while
-flush with boiling water
I hope this helps!
Most drain pipes will become clogged with either grunge, food particles, sewage, paper, grease, cotton, hair, or assorted other items. It is up to you to decide if you will use the natural drain cleaners to help retain a clean, safe environment.
