Hanging Christmas Ornaments

It seems every year I have at least a half dozen ornaments that do not have a hanger. What happens to these hangers? I have no idea. It’s not like I remove them each year when I store them.

Packages of hangers are really cheap but are a mess to keep up with. They just seem to wind up everywhere. So this year I will just use an old trick I’ve done in the past to hang Christmas ornaments – paperclips.

Paperclips are nearly perfect to hang Christmas ornaments. Just straighten it out to make an ‘s’ and use one loop for the ornament. Close it together to keep it on the hook. Then use the other ‘s’ to hang it on the tree.

I have these colorful paperclips that should be pretty festive, too. At least by using paperclips I won’t be picking up countless hangers for months since they inevitably spill and scatter everywhere.

  3. I find that it is the best place to hang my hand blown glass mounted inside a glass globe set. They’re kind of heavy so if they do drop off, they aren’t as likely to break. Teardrop ornaments show nicely there too. I really wouldn’t put too many or it may look cluttered. Though, as gifts begin to pile up, move the ornaments up.

  4. The decorating of Christman trees originated with the Germanic Saxon tribes in ancient times. They used candles, but this often led to fires, so with the invention of light bulbs, it wasn’t long before someone thought of colored lights.

  5. I think a tie or thread is a good idea as well. You can hang it on easily and stays for a longer time. Also some colorful ribbons is also a great idea.
