I’ve used plastic colored clothes hangers for years. I hang my husband’s clothes on white ones and mine on green ones. Lately, though, that’s hasn’t been the case as it has been just grab, hang, and get done with the laundry. We tend to wear the same clothes each week and have a lot of clothes that we just can’t wear anymore. So a new idea formed for these colored hangers.
I really need four colors to do this but my idea is to hang clothes on certain weeks on certain colored hangers. This way we can visually see which clothes are getting worn. When four weeks has passed, whatever still hasn’t been worn on the colored hanger needs to be given away as it’s obvious we aren’t wearing it. Right now I have three colors: white, green, and black. So I just need to buy a fourth color to really get this going. Hopefully this will help us thin out out clothing and organize our closet a little better.

That’s a pretty intersting idea you have. What happens if you accidentally give away an important piece of clothing?

The idea of separating clothes by weeks is neat… I am now looking at my metal-and-wood-all-the-same-hangers and try to guess what to do with them to have the same result. Will try to attach some color labels on them and see for how long they’re going to survive:)

I like your way of writing. Really smart. You discussed it so easily. Thanks for that. It’s a uncommon way of written. So, there are some talents hiding inside you. Anyway even i love to use the color hanger.

Hehe, really interesting ideas for cloth organization. I never thought of it, probably because i don’t have partner right now, but i guess i could use it for other type of sorting.
Anyway you could go with red or blue color now

I love your idea of using different hanger colors. Even if I don’t have anybody to share closet with, I can use this to identify which I should wear on a certain week to avoid repetition.

my head hurts just thinking about this - you’re taking domesticity to a new level.

What I do to weed out clothes that I don’t wear routinely is to hang all my clothes with the open end of the hanger facing out. After that I hang all my clothes back up like I normally would with the open end of the hanger facing towards the wall. After 6 months any clothes on hangers with the open end facing are clothes I haven’t wore in 6 months and most likely be given to charity.
