Microwave Cooking

I have been testing out cooking in the microwave with my new silicone bakeware. First, I did a cake which turned out pretty darn good. This weekend I made brownies that turned out OK.

The brownies would have been much better if my pan could have rotated in the microwave but it was just too big.

Next time I will not cut the water as the cake seemed to dry out pretty fast. Of course that could have been because I sliced it up to take it to a get together.

It was a fast and easy way to bake a cake. It’s so hot in the summer so baking in the oven is just out of the question but with the microwave it is a great alternative.

Housewife Standards

A few weeks ago, I took an Internet test to see how I measured up being a housewife by standards set in the 1930s. Needless to say, I would have been a poor housewife. I’m glad there isn’t employment screening for being a housewife or I wouldn’t have made the cut especially by standards from 70 years ago.

Here’s the quiz if you would like to get your score. I can’t remember my exact score. I thought it was pretty good until it said that I was a poor housewife. It’s a fun quiz and makes you realize that we have come a long way.

New Couch

We are in need of a new couch. The problem is that we don’t really have room for a couch. How do we replace the seating capability of a couch but with something smaller?

While I would love to just add a row of theater seating to the living room, I have to be more practical. Since the girl has her own kiddie couch, my husband and I have suggested just getting a couple of small recliners. That way we have seating but it doesn’t take up as much room as a couch.

It seems like a good idea for an alternative to a couch but just not sure. A new couch would definitely be more inviting for guests but just takes up too much room. We’re not ready to buy just yet, so we have a little more time to think this over.

Skin MD Natural

4oz-thumb.jpg For some time now, I’ve been searching for a lotion that I could apply to my face at least once a day. I’ve tried several lotions through the years but I’ve never stuck with using any one for very long. When I was given the opportunity to try Skin MD Natural, a skin care product that helps to restore dry skin, I was very willing to try it. Like many people, I have dry skin in the “T” zone on my face.

You use Skin MD Natural every few hours until the dry skin is replenished. Then you use it either once or twice or day. It’s really helped cure my dry skin. Skin MD Natural is more than a moisturizer as it hydrates your skin as well. Skin MD creates a barrier over your skin that keeps your skin’s natural moisture in and those irritants that rob the moisture out. My skin feels much softer and looks a lot better.

The best thing I like about Skin MD Natural is that after I apply it, my hands are not greasy. That’s one reason I haven’t worn lotion much before is that I can’t stand the residue that is left on my hands. I always have to immediately wash them so they feel normal again. It always seems lotions take forever to work in fully. Skin MD Natural isn’t like that and after a few seconds it is worked into my skin. Also a small amount goes a long way, so a bottle of it will last a long time.

It’s one of the best beauty products I have ever used. Not only does it hydrate my skin but it goes on silky smooth and leaves no residue. Another big plus for Skin MD Natural is it has no scent. It seems lately that I can’t wear any perfumes or use scented lotions. Even shampoos bother me sometimes. So it’s wonderful to have a lotion that is not scented and works like it is suppose to.

Overall I’m very pleased with the results I’ve had using Skin MD Natural and will continue to use it everyday as it really has helped my dry skin.
