I’m not sure how a mouse actually made it through the yard full of cats around our house. ( we have two cats plus my Mom’s cat hangs out most of the time AND two more who have adopted us!) Maybe I’m feeding them too well, and they don’t feel the need to hunt their food. Here is one of the visiting cats. She looks like she is eating well from our food.

So, I will have to set out some mouse traps tonight. The last time we had a mouse in the house we bought some live mouse traps. We caught one but another one was either too smart or too big to fit through the opening.
Instead of using cheese on the trap, we use a peanut. Mice can’t resist peanuts. It’s only a matter of hours once the trap has been set until a mouse has fallen prey to it. Slightly roasting your peanuts in the microwave for a few seconds will give them a stronger scent and ensure that those mice find the trap sooner. Or at least in theory they will.
A mouse in the house is never a welcomed guest. Usually with a trap and the right bait, the mouse problem doesn’t last for very long.
