My husband is actually the one who introduced me to the Swiffer duster. He picked them up one day while we were shopping. They worked really well for dusting. In fact, he bought his Mom a box, so he could clean her ceiling fan. It worked like a charm.
While I’m pleased with the one I have, I just couldn’t pass it the new and improved Swiffer duster at the grocery store. I’m glad I did. The dusting pads are larger and do have more texture to lock in dust. It seems to work better. The handle has also been ergonomically redesigned. The yellow Swiffer is the new one.

I like the longer handle since it puts me further away from the surface I am dusting. It also feels more comfortable to hang onto. Even though there is nothing wrong with my old Swiffer duster, I’m glad I picked up the newly designed one since it is a huge improvement over the original.

I really need a rolling desk to use with my laptop while I’m sitting in the recliner. That way I can have a place to put it out of the way when Rae wants to be held but can still work on stuff I need to do. That’s why I think a healthcare cart would be an ideal choice and fit the bill.
A TV tray would work but something that would roll would be better since it can be pushed out of the way easily. It’s just what I’ve been looking for and think would serve me well as a portable desk. It’s the best solution I’ve found to date. I might continue looking and then make a decision about what to buy.

I can’t believe that Guitar Hero III has been available now for two days, and I’ve yet to buy it. I do love to play video games, so I know that a lot of video games are released on Tuesdays. Little did I know that Guitar Hero was released Sunday. The whole family gets into Guitar Hero.

Today when I made my what seems like daily trip to Wal-Mart, I saw Guitar Hero III but resists buying it. All they had was the game bundled with the guitar controller. I really don’t need another controller, especially a wired one. Another wireless controller would have been OK, and I probably would have bought it.
Of course, now looking at the picture a third guitar might not be a bad idea.

Usually after devouring Halloween candy for a week, I feel tempted to buy hydroxycut or some other diet supplement to help lose all the weight I’ve gained. This year, though, I’ve taken a different approach to Halloween treats.
Some examples of treats I will be handing out this year include chocolate covered pretzels, Teddy Grahams, Ritz Crackers, and mini granola bars. I also might even pass out individual popcorn bags. Kids just want loot from your home, and Moms will appreciate the thoughtfulness of better, smarter Halloween treats.

After seeing them in the store for years now, I finally bought a pack of space bags. It’s bags that you stuff your clothes in, then you use your vacuum cleaner to suck all the air out, making the clothes take up less storage space. I got a bonus travel space bag that’ll be handy for any caribbean cruises that I might embark on in the near future since space will definitely be limited in a cabin.
I do plan to review the product in depth. I was surprised at how easy it was to do and at the results. If I buy more will depend upon how well it does with the second bag of clothes and just how much I have left to store. Hopefully I can set up the video camera to film it as it is pretty neat to watch it work.

My sister-in-law is a nurse. She went to school a few years back to get her degree. When she graduated, she thought about taking a traveling position where she would be in a different city from week to week. The pay was phenomenal but all the travel just didn’t fit her lifestyle being married with a young child. So instead she opted for a position that would keep her closer to home.
If you can handle being away from home, then a travel nurse is a great job. If I were a nurse I think I would like it since your surroundings would be constantly changing. It would be hard to get tired of your co-workers since they would be changing from week to week. The pay is also outstanding. I know a few people who have done travel nursing before and would only have to work a weekend to make as much money working 5 days a week at a regular nursing job.
We live about 100 miles from New Orleans, LA which has been in short supply of nurses for years even before Katrina. There are a lot of nurses who travel to New Orleans from here to work for a couple of days then return home. In that short amount of time they can double their paycheck.
he concept of travel nurses isn’t new and short lesson in nursing history will show that nurses would travel with doctors who covered a wide geographic area. I wonder if they pay was as good back then as it is now? If you are a nurse, then you can really make a nice living working the hours you want and living where you desire.
If I thought that I could do it, then I would go back to school to become a nurse. I do think it’s a calling, though, and sadly not one that I hear.

Soon children will be knocking on your door and looking for a handout. Of course they will be hoping to get a sweat treat this Halloween. You know some chocolate or sweet tarts or candy corn make all fine treat choices. Candy is dandy indeed but there are some alternatives that even the biggest sweet tooth wouldn’t mind receiving.
A quick look through the Halloween aisle that was probably stocked sometime at the end of August has some choices for treats. Pencils, cups, straws, even vampire teeth can be bought in bulk to give out this Halloween. The prices aren’t that bad especially if you shop at a super center.
Take a quick trip through toys to find some other ideas for Halloween goodies. There is a section at our Wal-Mart that has toys for 88 cents and up. I found a bag of 25 dinosaurs for $2. I added some bangle bracelets for 88 cents to give some choices for the kids. All together, I spent less than two bags of candy and got some neat Halloween treats. I already had some pencils that I had picked up last year after Halloween and tucked away for this year. After Halloween is a great time to pick up decorations since they will be really cheap.
I would rather buy cheap trinkets to pass out than candy because we don’t get that many trick or treaters, so I’d rather have stuff than candy as I’m less tempted to eat toys than chocolate.

It’s amazing how easy it was to really make our bathroom look better. Our bathroom decor really lacked a theme, but with a few matching accessories you can definitely see a theme now.
The best part of our theme was that it costs us less than $20. Since that bathroom was already painted yellow, we chose a duck theme. Here is a breakdown of what we added and the cost.
Duck-themed shower curtain holders - $6.95
Duck tub grips - $3.95
Duck bath rug - $5.00(local thrift store purchase)
These few items have really made the bathroom look put together and didn’t cost a lot of money. With a little patience and searching, it’s amazing what you can find for a good deal.

The New Orleans Saints won their second straight game this past weekend, which means they are on a winning streak. After a horrible start, maybe they are finally pulling it together and can salvage the season.
I do enjoy watching football but really enjoy going to football games. It’s so much fun to yell and scream for your team with other fans. If it’s Saints tickets or Jets tickets or even Rams tickets, I would be interested in going to the game. Sometimes it just doesn’t matter the team as long as it is live.
Now that the weather is getting colder, it is definitely time to take in at least one football game. It’s just hard to get into the game when sweat is just pouring off your forehead. But this type of weather when you need a blanket or throw, now this is football weather. I will have to check to see what games will be in our area this weekend. Even local football is good Friday fun. It doesn’t matter the team as long as it’s football.

When I was asked if I would like to receive a sample of Dawn Simple Pleasures for review, I immediately said yes. Having used regular Dawn before for everything from doing dishes to cleaning eyeglasses, I knew that it was a good product. I had used Dawn for many years but then changed to another brand for a while to mix things up. I have since come back to using Dawn.
I usually just buy the regular blue-colored Dawn since it is so cheap and works fine. Using other products I have learned that expensive isn’t always better and scented products don’t necessarily clean as well as their original counterparts. Since we do not have a dishwasher, the dish washing liquid is used multiple times a day. It needs to work well, and since I’ve had issues with new and improved formulas, I just buy my regular bottle of Dawn.
I was intrigued with Dawn Simple Pleasures, so I agreed to try it. Dawn Simple Pleasures combines dish washing liquid with an air freshener and comes in three scents: water lilly and jasmine, apple and pear, and tangerine and lemon. I was sent a bottle of tangerine and lemon scent.

Once it arrived, I removed the film on both sides of the air freshener and sat the bottle next to my sink. The scent was strong but not overpowering. To me lemon is the smell of clean so to have this scent radiating from my kitchen makes me smell like a better housewife than I am! The rest test to for Dawn Simple Pleasures came after supper when I did the dishes. I had a sink-full of suds that lasted for at least an hour, maybe longer. My sister-in-law is of the mindset that the dish washing liquid stops working once the suds are gone. With Dawn Simple Pleasures, I still have suds well after I’ve cleaned my last dish.
Dawn Simple Pleasures is two products in one and both work extremely well. My dish washing liquid sits on valuable counter top space all day long. It’s nice that it now has a purpose all the time instead of just when I’m doing the dishes.
