I have been visiting baby blogs for quite a while. A former co-worker and friend had started a baby blog with his wife for their firstborn. I was pregnant at the time, and his wife had the same due date as me. I would check their (what started out as) pregnancy blog to get updates and all. He was diligent to post about fetal development, so it was fun to read the progress of her baby because that is where I was in my pregnancy.

Well, when the baby was born, they changed the blog to the baby blog. I still visited a lot because their baby is adorable and it is fun to read of his developmental milestones since he is so close in age to my own baby. My baby came three weeks early while their baby came a week early. So, while we had the same due date, our babies do not have the same birthday.

From their blog, they have a blogroll of their friends and family. Some of them are baby blogs and some have evolved in baby blogs since some have since become pregnant. Now I read up on the lives of these people that I don’t know but really enjoy it. Apparently I’m not the only one who does this, which it is a great relief to learn others read baby blogs.

They have launched a website called BabyBlogAddict.com where fellow baby blog addicts can come together to discuss their common interest. You can also find product reviews and other useful information. I think the idea behind their website is really fun and a great idea.
