You may have noticed my BlogCatalog widget to the right at Geeky Housewife. I signed up with BlogCatalog a few months back as I was launching my new blog about household tips and reviews. BlogCatalog has been great for Housewife as several visitors have found me since I joined BlogCatalog.
Admittingly I haven’t put much effort into the BlogCatalog community. I hope to change that in the coming days as they have added a discussion forum for bloggers to share thoughts and ideas. The discussions are quite engaging and fun to read other people’s answers to questions. I also like that you can see the recent visitors to a certain thread. Also, you can see the last person posted on each discussion. That way if I see my face then I know there hasn’t been any new posts.
I’ve been trying to visit as many other BlogCatalog blogs as possible. That is when my computer is acting right, and the blog doesn’t hang on me. (grrrr) I love stats, so I like to peek at others page views and recent readers. Feeling proud of my 200 or so visitors I felt bad for some blogs that only had 40 views or so. That was until I noticed these blogs were added yesterday! Ah the power of BlogCatalog. You do get noticed.
There is a lot that I haven’t explored at BlogCatalog like the page views and other site stats. I didn’t even know they tracked that sort of information. I wish the user interface was a little easier to navigate. It’s straightforward enough but it’s hard to find certain things. I had to really look to find how to edit my BlogCatalog profile. I noticed that I hadn’t even uploaded a picture yet.
One feature that I do really like about BlogCatalog is the random bloggers that are featured on the front page. I like BlogCatalog and hope to use the service to its fullest.

Hadn’t seen you on BlogCatalog, but I found your blog through the Buzz experiment. Just added you as a friend and joined your neighborhood as a result.
Keep up the good work,
