Rummage Sales

I love to go to rummage sales and hate to have them. I love the extra money, but it’s no fun to have a rummage sale. It’s a lot of work but at least I get rid of some junk that someone really needs.

My neighbor is a rummage sale guru. She knows what sells and what doesn’t. She has some great tips and advice. I’m going to take part in her spring rummage sale this year. I was getting ready to toss some stuff out today when she suggested putting it under the shed and selling it.

One of her tips is to hang up your clothing as it sells better on hangers. My past rummage sales you are lucky if the clothes are on a table as they are usually just in a big pile on the ground. So, she saves clothes hangers throughout the year to use for the rummage sale. I’ve started to save hangers for our clothing that will be in the sale. I’ve always had more luck selling kitchen items and other brick-a-brack instead of clothes.

It’s always easier to do a lot of tasks when you have someone to do it with you. I’m actually looking forward to this rummage sale even though it is a few months away. It’ll be nice to cull our junk and make a few dollars.

About Housewife

I'm a mostly stay at home mom who loathes cleaning, cooking, and anything that remotely might be described as housework. I love trying new products and sharing household tips that save time and energy. Sure, I could post a ton of tips that I've read or found on the Internet, but I prefer to use tips and hints that I actually use.
